Gibb’s Farm

Gibb’s Farm 5*

Gibb’s Farm is the oldest guesthouse in the region. Started in the 1900s by a German Duke as a coffee plantation and later bought by James Gibb and his wife, this place has gone a long way to becoming a harbor for local culture and conservation.

Staying in Gibb’s farm is not only about beautiful views and luxurious interiors. This place is also a gateway to your cultural exploration of Tanzania. While fulfilling its original purpose as a coffee and vegetable farm, the residence endeavors to create relationships with local communities so as to preserve their history, artwork and way of life. Here you can meet local artists, visit a nearby school and go on a cycling tour about the village to learn about Tanzanian customs and traditions.

Charming classic cottages in rustic style overlooking the garden and plantations will serve as a perfect retreat for you and your loved ones. The warm and hospitable atmosphere of an original Tanzanian farm is simply incomparable to what any other lodge in the region has to offer.
