TWC Maramboi Tented Camp

TWC Maramboi Tented Camp 4*

Maramboi Tented Camp from Tanganyika Wilderness Camps collection offers the perfect combination of luxury and money-saving vacation. This is a permanent camping with contemporary-styled tented lodges constructed on raised wooden platforms. The hotel is fully solar-powered, which promotes the eco-awareness and local nature conservation policies shared by Tanganyika Wilderness Camps.

A most exclusive location on the margin of the Lake Manyara makes this camp a paradise nook for bird lovers. The lake is brightly colored pink when flamingos are coming here for their nesting in the rainy season, apart from an abundance of pelicans, ibises, hornbills, yellow-billed storks, cranes, jacanas and other species. Maramboi Tented Camp is wedged in between the lake and the migration path taken by zebras and elephants from July to October. The lodges are favorably blended with the light-golden and emerald-green surroundings in their neutral color, natural textures and local building materials. The camp is a natural landscape element, so don’t be surprised when you see zebras wandering beside your windows at an arm’s length!

With this variety of suites, guests can choose their favorite view to enjoy through the tent windows, or from an intimate private wooden terrace: Lake Manyara waters, boundless Tanzanian savannah, Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano, or a rocky wall at the Lake Manyara background. Maramboi Tented Camp is set amidst a flat landscape, and from any point you can see far and wide open all the way to the horizon.

TWC Maramboi Tented Camp on the map

Maramboi Tented Camp is the perfect location for travellers heading to the Lake Manyara National Park and Tarangire National Park. Lake Manyara boasts most attractive views in the rainy season, with an abundance of fresh greenery around the lodges, tall palms and green bushes, and full waterfalls spilling over the rocky walls back at the lake. The rainy season is the perfect time for flamingos, pelicans and other migrating birds coming here to nest. In the dry season, Lake Manyara is almost entirely dried out, and the birdlife gives way to the herbivores. The dry season is a great time for safari! Which is more, on your stay at maramboi Tented Camp, you do not have to travel far in the search of wildlife. Gazelles, zebras and impalas are herding right near the tents, hiding among the bushes or fearlessly wandering in short yellowish grass just a couple of meters away from your lodge. A 40-minute drive will take you to Tarangire, the world of giant baobab trees and majestic elephants. You can follow the path of animals from Lake Manyara to Tarangire on their search of fresh water sources from July to October.
