About Altezza About Altezza

In 2024, Altezza Travel won two prestigious titles at the World Travel Awards: Tanzania’s Leading Tour Operator and Tanzania’s Leading Destination Management Company. Your vote can help us achieve the same success in 2025.

Why your vote matters

Winning these awards brings more visibility to Altezza Travel, which helps us attract more travelers to Tanzania. But this isn’t just about growing our business — we reinvest a large portion of our profits into meaningful sustainability and community initiatives throughout the country.

After our 2024 win, we saw more travelers choose Altezza Travel over other operators. That support allowed us to do even more:

We became the largest taxpayer in the Kilimanjaro Region. In 2024, we paid more taxes than any other company in Kilimanjaro — not just in tourism, but across all sectors. Since we’re a Tanzania-based business, we’re proud to see our tax contributions go toward building schools, roads, and hospitals.

We equipped Kilimanjaro National Park with firefighting equipment. After devastating wildfires in 2020 and 2022 — during which our porters helped combat the flames — we donated six large containers filled with firefighting equipment to help rangers and volunteers respond more effectively in the future.

We expanded our reforestation efforts in Rundugai. So far, we've planted over 10,000 trees as part of our mission to restore local ecosystems.

We continue to support orphaned wild animals. Altezza funds the care of two young elephants who can’t return to the wild, covering their food and veterinary care at a rehabilitation center.

We funded life-saving medical care. Our €6,500 grant to the Meserani Snake Clinic allowed them to purchase a year’s supply of antivenom and essential medical gear. This is the only clinic in Tanzania that provides free treatment for snakebites — for both locals and tourists.

In total, we've invested over $140,000 in these projects. That’s a significant contribution from a family-owned company based solely in Tanzania, with no external investors. And it wouldn’t have been possible without the recognition and visibility the World Travel Awards gave us.

You can read more about our initiatives on the Altezza Travel blog.

Why every vote counts

Unlike other awards decided by panels of judges, the World Travel Awards are determined by people like you — travelers, partners, and supporters who care about what we do.

If you’ve already explored Tanzania with us — or if you’re one of our team members or partners — you’ve seen the impact of our work firsthand. Your vote helps us keep going.

And if you’re planning a trip to the land of Kilimanjaro and Serengeti, consider giving us a helping hand in advance. You’ll see the impact of your vote when we welcome you to Tanzania.
