About Altezza About Altezza

If you received an offer from another tour operator but would like to travel with Altezza Travel, contact us. We will offer a better price for an equivalent safari program.

Why are the best safaris in Tanzania with Altezza Travel?

Over the past 11 years in Tanzania, we have built the most advanced infrastructure in the local safari industry. Altezza Travel now employs over 300 professionals and operates a fleet of more than 50 modern vehicles.

Our company is organized into specialized teams, each responsible for key areas such as hotel reservations, safari route design, vehicle maintenance, and technical support. We pay our employees the highest salaries in the Tanzanian tourism industry. This ensures the best talent works for us.

Altezza operates from a modern office in Moshi, the capital of the Kilimanjaro region.

Why is this important for your safari?

Our approach ensures a smooth, error-free safari experience. Comfortable Toyota Alphard vehicles always arrive at the airport on time. If your flight is delayed, our transfer manager will notice it on FlightRadar and immediately inform the driver.

We always plan transfers with extra time to spare. If anything happens to the vehicle on the way, we will quickly send a replacement car.

For our safaris, we use only modern Land Cruiser SUVs (manufactured between 2020 and 2025). Each one is equipped with Wi-Fi, comfortable seats, charging stations for devices, and a refrigerator stocked with cold drinks. These are the newest and most comfortable safari vehicles in the industry.

The most important part of our safaris is our driver-guides. Almost all of them are graduates of the College of African Wildlife Management (MWEKA), one of the few specialized universities dedicated to training safari guides and park rangers.

Each guide has at least seven years of professional experience guiding in national parks. On safari with them, you will not only see wild animals but also learn fascinating facts and insights you won’t find on Wikipedia.

We attract the best professionals in the region with the highest salaries and best working conditions.

According to the World Travel Awards, Altezza Travel was named Tanzania’s Leading Tour Operator in both 2024 and 2025. We are the only company in the industry certified by both Travelife and B Corp.

Safari prices with Altezza Travel

From the very beginning, we have aimed to offer the most reasonable prices. Sometimes they may be slightly higher than those of small operators. There are two main reasons for this:

Altezza Travel operates transparently. We pay all taxes in Tanzania and hold all required licenses and permits issued by the Ministry of Tourism. In 2024, we became the largest taxpayer in the entire region, not only in tourism but across all industries.

We take good care of our employees. Tanzania is a developing country with relatively low average wages and intense competition for jobs. Unfortunately, many irresponsible employers take advantage of this by paying minimal compensation. At Altezza Travel, we provide salaries that allow our staff to live comfortably in Tanzania and take good care of their families. Our employees feel secure, motivated, and dedicated to their work.

How to get the best price guarantee

If you have received a safari program from another operator at an attractive price but would still like to travel with Altezza Travel, contact us.

Thanks to our long-term partnerships with hotels and lodges, we can offer a lower price.

However, there are several conditions:

1. The program must be offered by a licensed tour operator.

The main requirements are a TALA license from the Ministry of Tourism and a VAT registration certificate. A registered tour operator will always be able to provide these documents. If you decide to use our best price offer, we will verify this information ourselves.

2. The operator must have at least 200 reviews on TripAdvisor or Trustpilot.

This ensures the company has been working in Tanzania for a long time, has organized similar safaris before, and that the reviews are genuine. Unfortunately, fake reviews are common in the industry. The only reliable way to confirm authenticity is by looking for a large number of reviews accumulated over several years – especially from travelers who have written 10 or more reviews about various destinations, not just Tanzania.

3. The tour logistics must correspond to the actual location of the parks.

Sometimes, travelers share programs where most of the trip consists of long drives rather than safaris. In such cases, it is impossible to truly enjoy Tanzania’s natural beauty, and the safari experience becomes disappointing.

When this happens, we explain why the itinerary is poorly designed and suggest better alternatives with a more logical sequence of park visits.

4. The program must not include hotels that exploit animals.

In Tanzania, a few hotels keep domesticated savannah animals on their grounds to attract tourists with photo opportunities, such as holding lion cubs. This practice contradicts our values.

We believe that wild animals should live freely in the savannah. If an animal has been injured by poachers and cannot survive in the wild, it should be cared for in dedicated TAWA (Tanzania Wildlife Authority) rehabilitation centers, which are not open to visitors.

For this reason, we do not cooperate with such hotels. We also do not organize tours that involve hunting or fishing.

Additional note: schools and orphanages

If your safari program includes visiting a low-income school or orphanage with gifts or school supplies for children, we can organize the visit free of charge, with one condition: we do not cooperate with organizations that allow direct interaction with children. In other words, you are welcome to deliver the gifts, but personal contact with the children should be avoided.

Tourist visits can distract children from their studies and create emotional attachment. In some centers where visits are permitted, children are unfortunately taught to entertain or emotionally engage visitors – calling them “mom” or “dad,” answering questions at the blackboard, dancing, or singing songs. Such performances cause psychological stress, especially for introverted or younger children. During the safari season, dozens of tourists may visit these schools every week, and instead of studying, the children are forced to perform for strangers.

Rehabilitation centers and schools that genuinely help children will gladly accept donations, but do not allow interaction with the students, or they limit it to a brief greeting, after which the children return to class. Avoid centers that encourage prolonged or active communication with children.
